Party Make-Up Look

As we're approaching the party season I thought I'd share my go to make-up look that I'll probably be wearing to every family get together over the next couple months!

I started off using my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the colour 1 fair and I put this mainly underneath my eyes and wherever I had a few spots or blemishes. I then took my Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation in the colour 101 classic ivory and using my fingers, applied that all over my face. Then, I took my Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks blusher and using the tip of my finger, dotted this in a circular motion on the apples of my cheeks. I then went over all of my face with the Rimmel London Stay Matte powder in the colour 003 Peach Glow!

For my eyes I started off with applying the No7 Stay Perfect Smoothing and Brightening Eye Base, which I love! This product has lasted me absolutely ages and it works so well.
I then used my Gold by Giles eyeshadow pot which annoyingly doesn't have a name, but its basically a set with a white, grey and black eye-shadow in to create a smokey eye. I applied the white colour to the corner of my eye using an eyeshadow brush that I got for £2 in bodycare... bargain! I then applied the grey colour all over my lid and followed that with the black colour in the crease of my lid, blending outwards until I had the smokey effect I wanted.
For my eye-liner I used the Maybelline New York Gel Eye-liner in the colour 08 Black Gold. It comes with a brush that I used to do a casual flick all the way across my lash line!

Now I wanted to make the lips the main feature and so given that the christmas colour is red I decided to go for my Christian Dior lipstick in the colour 863 Rouge De Pete, which is the brightest red I own!
Finally, I filled in my brows using my eyebrow brush and a dark brown colour out of my Body Collection eyeshadow palette, again from body care, which cost me about £4 and has lasted forever. I like to fill in my eyebrows last because if I do them first they end up just getting covered in foundation again so it's nice to touch them up at the end!

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments if you use any of the same products for your party looks!
Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi there! i started to read your post and absolutely loved it. i saw it was a long one so i went and made a cup of tea and came back so i read it from top to bottom, and i really enjoyed it. i thought id tell u :).
About applying foundation with your fingers.. i sometimes commit the same crime, i think if you dont have the right brush or you just arent feeling it, then u should use ur fingers, its doesnt always end badly. in fact i sometimes prefer it that way it turns out smoother.
Also id really like to see a post about the Maybelline New York Gel Eye-liner

    1. That's so lovely thankyou so much! :D I know I pretty much use my fingers because I'm being lazy and am rushing for most of the time! I am thinking about doing one on the eye-liner :)! thankyou for your comment!
