Valentines Day Make-Up

As valentines day is approaching this weekend, I thought I'd try and expand my make-up looks and give a valentines look a try. My looks tend to be quite similar most of the time. I have my everyday make-up and my going out makeup, but aside from that I don't really branch out too far which I want to try and change, so I thought I'd give a valentines look a go!
I honestly have no idea what I'm doing with make-up, I just go off what I've seen from youtube videos or however I feel comfortable doing it, so if what I do helps you in anyway then brilliant!

 Face Make-Up:
Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation - 101 Classic Ivory
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 Fair
Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder - 003 Peach Glow
No7 Directional Powder Brush
Gold by Giles Lipgloss (Dark Pink)

Eye Make-Up:
No7 Stay Perfect Smoothing and Brightening Eye Base
Gold by Giles Eyeshadow Quad
Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner
Maxfactor Masterpiece Mascara - Rich Black
Brushes (Top from unnamed set, Bottom from Bodycare)

I started off using my match perfection foundation, dotting a little bit all around my face and blending it all together. I've said before I like to use my fingers for blending, I just think it's so easy to do and you never have to battle against brush marks. Once I've done my foundation I like to leave the rest of my face make-up until last and move onto eye make-up. This way if you have any mistakes or fallen eyeshadow beneath your eyes you can clean it up without ruining your perfectly finished face make-up. So, I went on to apply my No7 Eye base to my eyelids!

I then got my Gold by Giles quad, which came in a set my sister got me for my birthday ages ago, but annoyingly doesn't have a name. I took the gold/brown shimmer colour of the quad and applied this all over my lid, using my eye brush I got from Bodycare for £2! I then took the darker colour of the quad, which is a like a dark brown with a purple undertone, and using the more rounded eye brush, blended this colour into the crease of my eye!

I am one of those people that really can't complete a look without using eye-liner, so I took my collection fast stroke liquid eye-liner and proceeded to draw a flick from the centre of my eye, all the way to the edge of my eyeshadow. It takes me so long attempting to get them both exactly the same and you almost never can, so it's perfectly fine if your flicks don't quite match! I then applied numerous coats of my maxfactor masterpiece mascara!

Now that my eyes were finished, I moved back onto face make-up. To cover up any blemishes I used the collection lasting perfection concealer in the corners of my nose, under my eyes, and anywhere I felt needed more coverage. To set it all in place I then went over my entire face with the rimmel london stay matte powder! I then added the final touch by applying a dark pink lip gloss just to add a bit of colour!

So that's my Valentines Day make-up look! I had a lot of fun trying to branch out from my usual black smokey eye and I hope it inspired some of you to try a different look this valentines day. Let me know in the comments what you're planning for valentines day, whether it's a romantic meal with your partner or a night in partying with the girls!
