My Everyday Make-Up | 2015 Edition

Those of you that have been reading my blog for a while now will have noticed that my make-up looks are always very minimal. I used to suffer with severe acne and I was put on intense medication to clear up my skin, which thankfully worked miracles, so now that my skin is clear I like to keep my makeup to a minimum! This is mainly to let my skin breathe from the years of piling layers and layers of foundation on it to cover up my acne, but also because makeup takes me a long time and sometimes I need to get out of the house quickly! If I'm going out somewhere nice then I will spend a bit longer but on a day to day basis, I want quick and easy makeup!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 Fair
MaxFactor Masterpiece Mascara - Rich Black
Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder - 003 Peach Glow
No7 Directional Powder Brush

The first product I use is a concealer. The collection concealer is incredibly high coverage so I find that this works well enough on it's own for me! I put a small dot on any blemishes on my cheeks and around my nose and eyes, and then using my fingers I blend it to cover my entire face. Only using concealer can look and feel quite drying on the skin, although if you moisturise well enough it should be as smooth as a regular foundation!

I then head straight onto mascara! I used to use eye-liner on a day to day basis but nowadays if I'm just nipping out somewhere I won't bother. It makes me a lot more comfortable and I don't have to worry about smudging anything!

Then, I just use a powder for some extra coverage. This powder is honestly my every day favourite product, I cannot finish doing my make-up without using powder!

And that's it!
For anyone who is like me and doesn't want to spend forever doing their make-up on a day to day basis, then this is perfect! It literally takes me a maximum of 5 minutes to do this make-up and that's including skincare! I found that I am more comfortable when wearing this amount of make-up than I am when wearing a lot more because I have no fear of smudging or half my make-up coming off during the day. Although this was the complete opposite when I had bad skin, so I guess I'm making up for those years when I felt like I had to plaster my face every day!

Let me know in the comments what products you use on a daily basis and if you have any recommendations!

  1. I want to spend less time doing make up, did you feel uncomfortable at first? Because like my biggest worry is looking disgusting because I am so used to wearing foundation everyday, I want to be minimal so bad, it takes me so long to get ready in the morning :(

    You look so pretty btw.

    1. Yeah it was weird getting used to it! I felt very exposed! It was mainly my eye make-up that was hard to cut down on for me because I was so used to wearing eye-liner/eye-shadow every day, to cut down to just mascara was really hard! But what I realised by cutting down to just mascara, is that people get used to seeing you with minimal make-up on, so you feel less and less exposed and time goes on and then when you do really fancy make-up, everyone compliments you on how glammed up/awesome you look! Why don't you try cutting down to a BB Cream first? :) That's what I did! I started off wearing foundation, concealer and powder, then cut down to a BB Cream, concealer and powder (the BB Cream felt a lot lighter on my skin!), then you either cut out the concealer and just use the BB Cream and powder, or do what I do and cut down to concealer and powder :) It did take me a long time to cut down to the minimal make-up I wear now but I'm so much happier having done so! :) xxx

  2. Your makeup is beautiful <3
Something similar happened to me so now I only wear concealer, foundation and mascara (sometimes eyeliner) to school. But I think that's a good thing as it is not as time consuming and makes me feel more confident, as I know that i'm wearing makeup but also knowing i'm not covered in it like most girls at my school.
