Greece | Part Two

Halfway through the holiday we decided to wanted to get out of the hotel a bit more, so we booked ourselves onto two more excursions! The first was a trip to a place called Paradise Beach. This one pretty much just consisted of the transfer from the hotel to the beach and back, the rest of the day you were free to do whatever you want. Paradise Beach, as you can probably guess from the name, is famous in Kos for its sandy beach and beautiful sea! However, it also goes under another name, Bubble Bay! I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think volcanic gases rise up from the seabed and into the sea, creating little pockets in the seabed where bubbles continuously float up the surface. It is amazing! If you swim out to where the bubbles are and position yourself floating on top of them, it feels like you're in a natural jacuzzi! I could have stayed there all day!
That's not only what paradise beach offers though! There is also an inflatable water park in the sea and a watersports centre. With it being a tourist place though it is quite expensive (55 euros for 15 minutes on a jet ski) so we didn't do the watersports unfortunately which I was gutted about. But we had an amazing day soaking up the sun on a beautiful beach!

We then booked ourselves onto our last excursion of the holiday, an island hopping cruise! You all get onto this gorgeous little boat around 9 in the morning and it takes you to some neighbouring islands around Kos. The first one you go to is the Island of Pserimos, which is famous for its sponge diving. We used this as an opportunity to have a drink and admire the view! They then took us to a little village on another Island (which I unfortunately can't remember the name of), before moving onto our final destination, the Island of Plati! This wasn't an Island as such, more a massive rock! But they pull up the boat quite close and you essentially just jump straight off the boat into the sea. You can then have a snorkel and there's also a massive protruding rock which people were walking up and jumping off, it was pretty awesome. They also took us out to a part of the sea where you could see dolphins, which I loved!
The crew were amazing, providing us with a bbq lunch and a lot of laughs along the way! The captain even had everyone up dancing at one point. I honestly recommend taking this cruise if you ever go to Kos. It was a brilliant day out and really adds something active and fun to your holiday!

Make sure to check back in for the third and final part of my holiday to Greece on Sunday. I honestly have that many pictures that it can only be done in 3 parts!
Hope you enjoyed!

  8. Greece is truly beautiful. I am gutted I didn't have a chance to try out snorkeling while I was there. Beautiful photos! Especially underwater ones :) I actually love taking these type of excursions during trips, as I am not very fond of just sitting in the beach all holiday. And taking excursions gives you a perfect opportunity to explore the country more and meet wonderful people :)
