Hello Autumn

I am definitely an autumn girl. I try my hardest to love summer, but there's just something about the colder months that makes me so happy. Maybe it's because halloween, bonfire night, my birthday and christmas all come along with it, and the fresh air, brisk mornings, and dark nights make me feel ten times better than a hot and sticky day of heat. I thought I would embrace the cosy-ness of the season, and share a post of some of my favourite things that come along with this wonderful season.

COZY JUMPERS
Is it just me who finds it so difficult to dress in summer? The temperamental weather we get here in England means one minute it's glorious sunshine, the next it's a thunderstorm, so dressing in winter is just so much more straightforward. Give me a massive, oversized jumper and some jeans over a maxi-dress any day!

BONFIRE NIGHT
I'm not quite sure why, but bonfire night feels like such a romantic night to me. The bonfire, the fireworks, the sparklers, it just all feels very fairytale-esque to me and I love celebrating it, whether that's with a partner or my family and friends.

COLOURS
Nature in both autumn and spring is something to be appreciated! All of the reds, oranges, yellows and browns make everywhere look so much more beautiful. I once went to Paris in mid October and walking through the parks filled with the autumn trees was incredible.

RAINY DAYS/HAVING THE FIRE ON
Any excuse to get cosy there is, I'll take it! Curling up inside with a blanket, cup of tea and a good book whilst it's raining outside is when I'm my happiest.

CANDLES
Similar to above, candles just make everything so much cosier. Plus the scents at this time of year are just so good.

 HOT BATHS
If I'm not reading curled up under a blanket, I'm reading in the bath. Coming in from the cold and rain and climbing into a hot bath with some bubbles and music - perfection.

 BLANKETS
My mum has this huge tartan blankets that we bought when we used to go camping, and during the colder months we leave them on the couch to snuggle under when we get a bit chilly. I don't really like sitting in my dressing gown so blankets are my saviour!

HALLOWEEN
Okay, I actually hate all things scary. Horror is not a genre that I like in any medium, and I do slightly dislike halloween for that reason. BUT, I do love getting dressed up and going to a halloween party, or staying in and getting a bowl of sweets ready for the trick or treaters. My sister throws an annual halloween party each year and I love going to that, even if I do get pranks pulled on me all night.

AUTUMN MAKEUP
I wear quite heavy make-up on both my skin and eyes, and in autumn it just becomes so much more comfortable and fun to wear. The summer heat makes it far too hot to wear much makeup, if any, so I love it when I can do my makeup and not feel like it's going to melt off my face. Plus I love all of the darker reds, plums and smokey eyes that come along with this season.

CHRISTMAS
I know christmas technically counts as winter, but once bonfire night (and my birthday) are over and done with, it's pretty much christmas in our household. It's just the happiest month and I adore the build up just as much, if not more, than christmas day!

What are some of your favourite things about this season?
