Christmas Party Make-Up

The christmas season brings with it some wonderful festive parties and I'm sure you all have one of these planned for some point in the build up to christmas so I thought I would share with you all an eye and lip make-up look you could recreate for your next christmas party! I won't be showing you how I do my face make-up in this look because once I find a find a routine I stick to that for months on end so if you'd like to see how I do my face make-up I'd recommend checking out my Autumn Make-Up Look!

(p.s ignore my eyebrows, I'm growing them out!)
Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette
Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner
Maxfactor Masterpiece Mascara - Black
Christion Dior Lipstick

I started off by priming my eyes with my Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. I then took the double sided brush that comes with the Naked palette and applied the colour Bootycall all over my lid, focusing quite heavily on the inner corner of my eye. This is a very neutral shade when applied but it gives that extra shimmer for when you use another colour on top!

I then took the colour Chopper and using the same brush, placed this on my outer lid and inner crease. I wanted to make sure I had some definition to the eye using a more natural colour, before I went in with an even darker colour later on. And then of course I blended this out!

Around halloween last year I really wanted some glittery eyeliner as I was dressing up as the Queen of Hearts from Alice In Wonderland and I wanted to do some extreme make-up, so I picked up Collection Glam Crystals Gel Liner. It is supposed to be used as an liner but I just decided to apply this all over my lid, avoiding the Chopper eyeshadow in my inner crease. The pictures aren't showing the glitter up very well as my lighting wasn't awesome because I did this at night, but I love honestly love this product. The colour pay off is really good!

To add some shape and definition to my eye, I then went in with the much darker colour YDK and applied this all to my outer crease and blended. Looking back on it now I would probably change this colour for a slightly lighter shade like Busted, as this does seem quite dark looking at the pictures although I still like it!

For this next part, I did think about using eyeliner but for some reason I just decided to stick to my eyeshadow palette, so I took some of the colour Blackout and applied this from the centre of my lash line and outwards in a cat eye. I was actually hugely surprised at how well this turned out and it was also 10x quicker than if I would've used eyeliner!

And of course we can't complete an eye look without mascara. This is the mascara I have used in pretty much every single one of my make-up looks because I just love it too much to even try out other brands!

And now the last thing to do is add some red lippy for the ultimate christmas vibes! The colour is not showing particularly well on my pictures (like I said, the lighting wasn't great!)  but this is actually a very bright red and I adore wearing this for special occasions. I don't think it would quite be christmas without rocking a red lip at some point and this lipstick is so easy to apply and lasts really well!

Let me know in the comments if you like this look and I hope you all have a wonderful time at any christmas parties you might be attending over the next few weeks!

  1. Love this makeup, and I think you can never go wrong with a red lipstick during the holidays!
