5 Things I Want To Achieve In 2016

Around this time last year I posted a blog called my '2015 BUCKET LIST', with 10 things on it that I wanted to try and accomplish before the year was up. Well, a year has now gone by so it's time to review that list and create a new one for the year ahead!

2015 BUCKET LIST REVIEW
I managed to achieve 6 out of the 10 challenges I gave myself last year;
COMPLETE MY READING CHALLENGE
My goal was to read 21 books throughout the year and I managed to achieve that and more by reading a total of 24 books!
TRAVEL MORE
I didn't do loads of travelling but I did visit Greece in the summer, which I had never been to before (find post ONE, TWO and THREE here), and I also visited Caernarfon in Wales with the family which I will be doing again next weekend (expect a blog post on that)
STICK WITH ONE IDEA FOR A BOOK
Whenever I get going on an idea for a novel that I'm actually happy with and looking forward to writing, all of a sudden another idea will appear unwelcome in my brain and I'll end up spending all my time on that one instead. Thankfully, this year, I actually managed to focus my time on one idea and made some progress on developing it. Let's hope 2016 brings a lot more progress on that!
GET MY ROOM ORGANISED
I'm due another clear out soon but my room is looking so much better than this time last year!
GO TO THE THEATRE
I had my first ever theatre trip this year which was going to see Wicked with my friend Carley and oh my gosh it was incredibly. I can't believe it's taken me this long to actually go to the theatre but I'm continuing my new found love for it by going to see Les Miserables in a few weeks!
KEEP UP WITH THIS BLOG
This year I managed to get myself into a weekly blogging routine, with a new post every sunday and I am loving it so much. I can't wait to write many more posts in 2016!

2016 BUCKET LIST
GO TO THE HARRY POTTER STUDIOS
This is one that I'm carrying over from last year as the only reason I didn't complete this was because they were completely booked up for the time we wanted to go, but we are now booked in to visit the studios in a couple weeks so I know I can definitely achieve this one! (is that cheating?... let's pretend it's not!)
LEARN TO PLAY A NEW INSTRUMENT
I made some progress with this last year in the fact that I purchased a new instrument (ukulele), I'm just yet to pick it up... Although my reasoning is that I bought quite a cheap one and it doesn't sound fantastic so if I can manage to change the strings and get it sounding better I want to make sure I've learnt at least 3 songs by the end of the year!
FINISH KNITTING MY PATCHWORK QUILT
This year my gran taught me how to knit and I have loved relaxing in the evenings knitting multicoloured squares to go in my patchwork quilt. I want quite a big one so it's taking me quite a while but I would love to have this finished by the end of the year.
HAVE 30,000 WORDS OF MY BOOK COMPLETED
I managed to stick with one idea this year but writing did take a back seat with starting university and the endless deadlines that came with it, so this year I want to make sure I get back into writing. 30,000 is only 2500 a month, that's doable...right?
COMPLETE MY READING GOALS
There will be a post coming soon talking about my reading goals for this year so make sure to check back for that.

So those are my five 2016 goals! Having things written down like this makes me so much more productive so here's hoping I finish 2016 with these completed. Let me know in the comments what your goals are for 2016 and if we share any similar ones!
