A Weekend In Wales

A couple weeks ago, myself and some family all travelled down to Caernarfon in Wales for the weekend. I had just finished a hectic week in university with two essay deadlines and an exam so I was so excited to leave all laptops, phones and worries at home and relax for the weekend!

FRIDAY
We all drove down on to Caernarfon on the friday and met up at the hotel we were staying at. There was 16 of us in total (we're a large family!), and we all gathered for a drink and some food in the evening before taking an early night to get ready for the next day.

SATURDAY
We were all up and eating breakfast by 9am and by 10 we were on our way to our chosen walk of the day! Last year we all walked up Mount Snowdon (not the best idea given it was covered in snow and ice), so this year we decided to take it slightly easier and walk up a hill (mountain) about half the size. It's times like these when I realise how ridiculously unhealthy I am, but even though I was gasping for breath when I reached the top, it was so exhilarating! We all got a massive family picture in front of the surrounding mountains and valleys and it was so much fun! It felt so good to leave all technology behind and clear my head, especially after that horrible week of deadlines. After a long but fun 4 hour walk we all headed back to the hotel, showered, and then headed out to a pub in the local town for some grub. It was also a karaoke bar so we spent hours and hours belting out as many songs as we could before our bodies became exhausted and it was time for bed!

SUNDAY
We all decided we deserved a lie in after our long walk the day before, so we didn't check out until around 11 and then made our way into town for a full english breakfast. Last year we went to this small cafe that did the best full english breakfast I've ever had so of course we went there again. After stuffing ourselves silly we all said our goodbyes and drove home!

It was such a fun little break and I definitely needed the time away! If you're looking for a quick weekend getaway, definitely look into Caernarfon. It's such a beautiful, quiet and relaxing place. Let me know in the comments if you've been there and what you thought of it!
