10 Things That Make Me Happy

As I mentioned briefly in my february roundup post, I've been letting life get on top of me quite a lot recently. I've been getting so swamped up in worries about university and general life stuff so I thought I would make a post about 10 things that make me happy, as a way to bring myself back down to earth and remember that things aren't as bad as they may seem!

For me, nothing is better than curling up on the couch with a good book. I could honestly spend all day every day reading and I would live a very happy life. It's been quite difficult finding time to read recently but when I do, I adore it so much!

Whenever I'm feeling stressed or grumpy, all it takes is a cup of tea to warm me up on the inside and make everything better. I don't think I go a day without at least two good mugs full of english breakfast tea!

Sitting down to have a catch up or a good ol' natter with your family and friends is such a nice way to relax and get rid of the stresses that are eating you up inside. Sometimes all it takes is a friendly pair of ears to listen and help you feel better!

Disney just oozes happiness. If I've spent the whole day watching disney films, that day has been spent well!

I've really been enjoying sitting down in the evenings to knit recently! My gran taught me how to knit last year and it's honestly such a relaxing thing to do. I'm currently knitting a patchwork quilt so it doesn't take long to knit a small square and it's so relaxing but also feels like you're doing something productive because you've made something at the end of it!

I adore writing this blog. I love that I get to write about anything that I want, I love that I get to be creative, I love that I feel part of a community full of people who love doing the exact same thing as me. I used to only upload on a sunday but I had so many more blog post ideas that I wanted to write about that I now upload every wednesday as well and I'm loving it so much!

Does anyone else get excited over food? When I'm in uni and I know I'm coming home to one of my favourite teas, I genuinely get excited. Food just makes everything better!

I don't know what it is, but there's just something about stationary that really pleases me. Having a brand new notebook and pen on my desk ready to jot down ideas or a new set of colouring pens for one of my many *adult* colouring books just makes me so happy!

Does anybody else come home from uni/school/work and just get straight into their pyjamas? I do. Literally the minute I walk through the door, whatever I was wearing suddenly becomes uncomfortable and the only way I can be comfy is to put on my tartan pyjama bottoms and a baggy t-shirt. If I'm not going anywhere else for the rest of the day I see no problem with spending it in comfy clothes!

It scares me how much I love my dog. I'm going to do a full blog post showing you guys some pictures and talking more about him but for now I'll just say that he's a yorkshire terrier and his name is Pippin! We named him after a dog on a tv show called 'come outside' that me and my sister used to watch when we were little. Nothing beats coming home to his little face every day and I could honestly just spend hours and hours cuddling him. He can probably cheer me up better than most humans can!

I'm going to try and look back on this list whenever life isn't going my way and I'm getting too worked up about things, just to remember that actually, life isn't bad at all and I need to be grateful for all these little things I have that bring me happiness. Let me know in the comments some things that make you happy and I hope you all have a great day!
