Cruelty Free Beauty Haul

I was flicking through some blogs the other day and I stumbled across a post someone had written about makeup brands that were not cruelty free, and it definitely shocked me! I couldn't believe how many well known brands were on that list, so I decided to do some research and try and replace my everyday makeup products with cruelty free brands. I did a lot of researching on this but a lot of different people say a lot of different things and it was getting far too difficult to decide whether something really was cruelty free or not. So I decided to go for the brands that either state that they are cruelty free on their websites, or have had numerous amounts of updated cruelty free websites and blogs say that they are. I really hope that I end up loving the products that I've bought and that I can eventually turn my entire makeup collection into cruelty free makeup only! I did look up a lot of reviews on each of these products and it seemed like a lot of people enjoyed them so fingers crossed they work well for me too!

BARRY M FLAWLESS ORIGINAL PRIMER
I've been wanting a new primer for a while now as I'm currently using the Benefit Porefessional on my t-zone and I wanted a primer that I could use on my entire face. I picked up the original primer rather than the other two they had which were 'colour correcting' and 'brightening' as I think this one had the most positive reviews. I've used it a few times now and I do really like it. It doesn't necessarily last all day and my makeup still goes quite patchy around my t-zone but I do think that's down to the fact that I have combination skin and my t-zone gets quite oily. On my cheeks however the makeup pretty much stays perfect all day!

NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION - MONT BLANC
I've been wanting this foundation for so long so I finally bit the bullet and purchased it! It definitely didn't disappoint as I tried this the other day and I loved the coverage and how dewy it looked on my skin. I preferred applying it with my fingers instead of a brush which I wasn't expecting, most people would apply this with a brush but I just felt like I got a more even coverage using my fingers. I also think I may have bought it in the wrong shade and that I might actually need the shade Siberia!

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER - 1 FAIR
I've been buying this concealer for years so this wasn't a new purchase! I love this concealer so much that I used to wear this on it's own with no foundation because it provided me with such good coverage. Couldn't recommend this enough!

COLLECTION EYE BROW KIT - BLONDE
I used to fill in my eyebrows using an eyeshadow from my Naked palette but I thought no, I want to do this properly, and so I purchased this eyebrow kit! I LOVE this. It comes with such a good brush for applying the colour and also a gel to apply after to set it into place. I mix the lightest colour and the medium colour together and it's just been working really well for me!

SOAP AND GLORY ONE HECK OF A BLOT POWDER - TRANSLUCENT
I used to swear by the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, but as I'm trying to change all my products to cruelty free, I decided to go for this soap and glory powder! I haven't used this properly yet, I just sort of swished it around my t-zone really quickly before uni one day last week and it seemed to work well. I had to top up again halfway through the day but my skin is super oily so that was no surprise. I'll have to use this properly before I can decide whether I really like it or not!

SLEEK I-DIVINE EYESHADOW PALETTE - VINTAGE ROMANCE 141
I really want to try out some pink/purple eyeshadow looks and this palette looked perfect! It's even got lots of golds for when I want a more natural look so I'm super excited to try this. I do love my Naked palette though so we'll have to see if this is as good!

SOAP AND GLORY SUPERCAT EXTREME EYELINER PEN - CARBON BLACK
I finally discovered eyeliner pens a while back and now I can't ever see myself going back to liquid eyeliner! I tried this the other day and LOVED it. It was so easy to apply, the colour came out perfectly with no streaks and no need to constantly go back over the same spot to achieve full colour. I think this was only £5 as well which was much cheaper than I expected it to be!

COLLECTION LENGTHENING MASCARA - ULTRA BLACK 17
When I first used this I wasn't that impressed. It wasn't as good as my beloved maxfactor mascara so I wasn't happy. But as I've used it more and more I'm starting to actually like it. I love the applicator, it's plastic and straight and super easy to use. It doesn't really give a full eyelash look but it definitely does lengthen them so if you're someone who prefers a more natural fluttery eyelash look this is definitely a mascara to check out, especially given how cheap it is!

If you'd like me to review any of these products in more detail after having used them for a while or if you'd like to see swatches then please let me know in the comments! I hope you enjoyed this post and that it's inspired you to check out more products from cruelty free brands! xxx

  2. I understand how hard it is to know if a brand is really cruelty-free or not. Most of the time we find different information on the internet so it's really confusing.
Thanks for sharing the brands. ;)
