Quick and Easy Healthy Smoothie

I really don't eat healthy enough! I'm just one of those people that crave unhealthy foods and like to comfort eat but that's definitely not who I want to be. There are so many people out there now, especially bloggers and youtubers, who are on plant-based diets and eat super duper healthy all day every day. As much as I wish that I could do that, it's just not going to happen, so I decided to make some small changes to my daily diet in order to switch things up a bit and get more goodness into my body. If you'd like me to do a post on the small ways I've changed my diet let me know in the comments!
Now don't get me wrong I do still have a takeaway now and then and I do still munch away on a chocolate muffin once in a while, but I think those things can be enjoyed in moderation. One takeaway a month isn't that terrible right?! The main thing that I added to my diet to make sure I was getting some goodness in me was smoothies. I've tried a few different ones with different ingredients but this one is by far my favourite and the easiest (and cheapest *in my opinion*) to make. So, I thought I would share with you guys this super quick and healthy smoothie recipe!

a handful of frozen berries
1 banana
strawberries (optional)

I think that if you're going to start making smoothies on a daily basis, frozen fruits are the way to go. We bought a tub of frozen mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and pomegranates) for about £2 at the supermarket, and it lasts forever. You don't have to worry about the fruit going bad because it's stored in the freezer and you can buy all sorts. Bananas are also great because you can whiz them up in a blender even if they're completely brown so they too last a long while! I love strawberries so I also add in a few extra but if you're not that bothered you can leave that part out and just use the frozen fruits and banana!
The hardest part was finding a liquid to use that made the smoothie the perfect consistency! I tried orange juice, water, yoghurt, but the best thing to use *again, in my opinion* is milk. Milk is just one of those things that you always have in the house and is easy to buy. I would like to switch to almond milk in all honesty, but I'm yet to find one that I like the taste of so I'll have to do some more research on that!
All you have to do is chuck all the ingredients into a blender, pour the milk in so that it covers them all, and blend! This is by far the tastiest smoothie I've made and the ingredients are so easy to store that it's also definitely the easiest. I make this in the mornings to drink on my way to university or in the afternoon if I'm peckish and want something to fill me up until tea time. I definitely think smoothies are the way to go if you're looking to add some goodness into your diet, they're just so easy to make and you can try out any combinations of fruit/veg that suit you the best!

Let me know in the comments if this is something you'd like to try out and what your favourite smoothies are!
