Mini Skincare Haul

To kickstart trying to get back into the swing of things with this blog, I thought I would share the long overdue skincare haul that I've been meaning to upload for a while now. I've mentioned a few times that I'm suffering with my skin at the minute so I've been desperately trying out as many different skincare products as possible to see what might work for me. I've tested out most of these products now so I guess the positive aspect of this post being so late is that at least I can now share my opinions of the products with you all!

LIZ EARLE CLEANSE AND POLISH HOT CLOTH CLEANSER
Everybody and their mother seems to be using this cleanser so of course I had to pick it up. This was actually cheaper than I thought it was going to be! I figured with it being Liz Earle that this would be well into the £20+ mark but actually this cleanser was only £14! I've been using this every morning and night for around a month or so and I really like it. I don't use a muslin cloth with it as the one that came with the cleanser was far too harsh on my sensitive skin so I just rinse this off with my fingers and warm water and it seems to work just as well! I wouldn't say this has had any effect on my acne as it's not really designed for that purpose but in terms of how soft and healthy my skin feels, this is definitely working. I can understand why people who don't suffer with problem skin enjoy using this cleanser so much. Once I finish this bottle I'll probably switch to a cleanser that is more suited to targeting acne but if I ever manage to sort my skin out I'll definitely be reaching for this cleanser again.

LUSH MASK OF MAGNAMINTY
I've mentioned this mask numerous times on my blog now and I just love it. This is designed for spots and blackheads and you can use it on your face and chest. I love the fact that the mint makes this face mask feel so incredibly fresh and I love applying it. It's not a smooth face mask, it's got a lot of bumps and lumps in it but it does dry quite nicely and I feel like I'm gently exfoliating when I wash it off! It definitely helps to calm down the painful under the skin spots and if you're a spot squeezer then this will definitely help in soothing your face afterwards.

GARNIER MOISTURE AND NOURISH MOISTURISER (COMBINATION + DRY)
I have to use two different moisturisers for my skin. I have combination skin but my dry patches are so extreme that combination moisturisers never work on them. So I picked up these two different moisturisers for I think less than £3 each! I've used both of them and I have to say I am not a fan of the combination one. The texture feels horrible and if anything it feels like it's just drying my skin out even more rather than moisturising it, but I absolutely LOVE the one for dry skin. I switched to the simple oil-balancing moisturiser to use all over my face and I use this garnier moisturiser on the dry patches on my cheeks. I just use a pea sized amount and my skin doesn't flake all day! I will definitely be repurchasing the one for dry skin as I can't believe a product that good is so cheap. Definitely try that out if you have dry skin!

SUPERDRUG DEEP CLEANSING FRUIT MASK + SUPERDRUG DETOXIFYING CLAY MASK
These are the two products that I haven't actually used yet. I noticed that one of them has an ingredient in that I may be allergic to so I keep meaning to do a patch test and just keep forgetting! I love using face masks though so I'm pretty sure I will use these at some point and I think each of these cost 50p or something ridiculous like that so I'll most probably be back in superdrug soon to have a nosey around for some more!

What skincare products have you been trying out recently? Do you have any recommendations for problem skin?

  5. I use to hear so much about the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I think the hype sort of died down a little over the past year or so. I wish I could get my hands on it here in Canada. It seems like a great mid-range cleanser! xx
