5 Reasons Why You Should Pursue Your Passions

I completely and utterly think life should be about doing something you love. You're going to work almost every day for something like 50 years so why spend all that time doing something that makes you miserable?! It doesn't make any sense to me and I think more people should feel encouraged to go after the career and dreams they really want, so I thought I would share 5 reasons why you should pursue your passions!

YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY
Like I said, you're going to spend around 50 or so years working, you deserve to be happy in what you do! Life isn't supposed to be about wishing the hours away so that you can go home or living for the weekend, you deserve to enjoy what you spend all day doing. And I know that everyone has responsibilities and bills need to be paid, I'm not saying go quit your job right now, but what I am saying is there are a million and one different jobs out there. If the one you're working right now is making you unhappy, job hunt on your days off and try something else that interests you until you find one that makes you happy!

THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS SHOULDN'T STOP YOU
You can't please everyone. In life there will be some people that, no matter what you do, just won't like you. And thats OK! I saw a quote on pinterest the other day that said something like 'some people are your people, others aren't' and I love it. The opinions of people who don't know you, don't like you and don't positively impact your life shouldn't matter. They are not your people. Do what you love doing, and say sod it to the people who don't like it! Focus on the people who do.

IF YOU DON'T DO IT NOW, YOU'LL REGRET IT
One thing that absolutely terrifies me is being 80 years old and not having achieved my dreams. There are so many things I want to do with my life, and the thought of not doing any of it makes me so scared. Don't be full of regrets, do the things you want to do!

YOU'LL INSPIRE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME
There are so many people that never go after their goals and it makes me so sad to think about. Going after your goals and showing people how happy it can make you will inspire others to do the same. It could give your family and friends the kick they need to leave the job that makes them dread getting up in the mornings and find something they enjoy, what could be better than that!

LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT!
Life goes so bloody quickly. I'm turning 22 next month and it feels like I turned 16 yesterday. Time just doesn't slow down for anyone so I'm really trying to make sure I make the most of every single day.
Life is unpredictable as well. You never know what could happen or how many years each of us have got on this little planet so don't put things off, go out and make the most of life right now!

What are your passions?
