5 Reasons Why You Should Pursue Your Passions

I completely believe that life should be about doing something you love. Most of us will spend around 50 years of our lives working to earn a living, and I refuse to spend that time doing something that makes me miserable.
I understand that life is difficult. Bills need to be paid, mouths need to be fed, clothes needs to be bought, and a lot of people work their butts off doing something they hate to be able to do this. However, I also think that society pushes people who do have options and less responsibilities to go down a route that's bland and boring, because that's easier. People aren't encouraged enough to pursue something they love, or live a life that gives them more than money, so I thought I would write a post today with five reasons why, I believe, you should pursue your passions.

YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY
Life isn't supposed to be about watching the clock until it's time for you to go home, or wishing your days away to get to the weekend. You deserve to be happy in what you spend eight hours every day doing. And I'm not saying to quit your job right here right now, like I said I know everyone has responsibilities, but what I am saying is don't let yourself believe that you don't deserve to have a job you love. There are a million different jobs out there, and if the one you're working right now is making you unhappy, there is nothing stopping you even just looking to see what else is out there.

THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS SHOULDN'T STOP YOU
If what you love doing is something that requires an audience, don't let the fear of other people's opinions stop you. You can't please everyone. In life there will be people that, no matter what you do, just will not like you and that is OK! They are not your people. The opinions of people who don't know you, and who you don't know, shouldn't affect what you do with your life. Focus on the people who you love and who love you, because they are the only people whose opinions matter.

DON'T LET YOURSELF REGRET IT
I'm scared of being 80 years old and not having done any of the things I wanted to. Everyone's aspirations are different, and whether yours is to travel the world, raise a family, own a business, write a book, or just laugh every day, don't let yourself regret not doing it.

YOU'LL INSPIRE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME
Showing people that you can be happy in what you do every day will inspire others to do it for themselves. You've also got all of the experience to help your friends and family along the way to doing something they love and living a life they enjoy.

LIFE IS TOO. DAMN. SHORT
Time does not slow down for anyone, and it passes us by so quickly. It's also very unpredictable, and we never know what might happen in the future, so don't put things off!

What are your passions?
