Desk Tour | 2016

After all the rubbishy things that happened this summer, I decided it would be good for me to have a huge clear out and a change up, so a few months back I emptied my room and completely redecorated. I got rid of so much clutter and completely changed the colour and layout of my room and I'm absolutely in love with it! I decided to go for a very light pale grey on the walls to keep things neutral and so that I could accessorise with whatever colour bedding or pillows that I wanted and also my room is pretty small so keeping the walls and furniture light was a must to make it feel more open. My favourite thing about my new room is my desk. I tried my best to create a clean, tidy and pretty area to work in so I thought it would be nice to share a few snaps of my new and improved work space!
On one side I have my insanely beautiful fairytale books stacked up on top of each other, with my bouquet from my sisters wedding sitting on top. I do need to get a new vase for the bouquet as this one is far too wide but for now it'll have to do. Then on the other side I keep any current notebooks I'm using, so I have my bullet journal, my writing book and my personal journal stacked up with my new autumn candle on top. Those are the only things I keep on my desk, all pens and other notebooks are kept inside the drawers so there's plenty of space for me to work on.
Directly above my desk are my shelves. I decided to keep these very minimal and use them solely as display shelves rather than as storage and I love it so much. I recently bought some fairy lights from next and when I turn them on and light a candle my room becomes the cosiest place on earth. I'm so much more productive now than I used to be in a room full of useless mess and I can't wait to finish decorating the rest of my room!

Have you redecorated recently?
