Moving Forward

Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope you all had an amazing time last night saying goodbye to 2016 and bringing in the new year. I spent the evening celebrating with close friends, making sure I ended the year on a positive note!
I thought today I would just sit down and write a casual chatty post, looking back on 2016 and also talking about some of my plans for this blog in 2017. I've not made it any secret on this blog that 2016 has been one of the worst years I can remember. Not only in general has it been a terrible year in regards to world events and deaths, but also on a personal level I've had so many difficult and horrible things happen this year that it's hard to think where to begin. I spoke briefly on this blog about my struggles with acne, the loss of my dog, and my relationship ending, but alongside them I've also been struggling with physical and mental health issues. In the future I do want to do some posts discussing mental health and my experiences with it, but for now I'm not quite there yet.
I can safely say I'm absolutely ecstatic about this year coming to a close, and I tried my hardest to make the most of the festive season and end the year positively. I have so many goals and things that I want to work on in 2017, which I'll be chatting through in my next blog post, but for now I thought I would share some of my plans for this blog.
I've decided it's time for a bit of a change in terms of the design. I've had the same template for the past year and a half, and whilst I do love it, I feel like it's time to change things up a bit, so hopefully I'll be purchasing a new template soon and the blog will look brand spanking new!
I've also made the decision to go back to sunday uploads. I decided at the beginning of last year to start uploading on a wednesday as well, and whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed producing more content, I've not been 100% happy with the stuff I've been writing. Dealing with all of the personal stuff, alongside university, having a social life and working on other things like writing, has meant that sometimes it's been a rush to finish a blog post and I really don't like doing that. I want to start writing more personal blog posts that take a bit more time, and I also gave myself a christmas treat and purchased a new camera this month, so I'm desperate to get out and improve my photography. I'm just going to take things slowly and focus on putting more effort into my posts. I hope anyone who reads my blog is okay with that and doesn't mind a once a week upload!
2017 is feeling like a good one. I feel like all of the bad things that happened in 2016 are getting left behind and I can move forward on a clean slate. I'm looking forward to talking about all of my goals and aspirations for the year in a post next sunday, and I hope everyone reading this is feeling positive and excited for the year ahead. I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and new year, and here's to 2017!

  6. Love,

I am so sorry that you had to deal with all that in 2016. I lost my grandma right before the holidays and I wasn't able to enjoy or even attempt to enjoy any festivities. I also can relate to your acne struggles, my skin is only clearing up now, at 27. Know that all those things will only make you stronger. Always put yourself first and remember to take care of your health. I hope that 2017 brings you nothing but happiness, love, laughter and peace and all the fabulous things and experiences you deserve. I know that there are amazing things coming your way! Sending love!!
