Life Update | Worrying & A Creative Slump

I did that thing again where I don't write for a while and then I forget how to do it. These past few weeks have been so jam-packed with places I needed to go, people I wanted to see, and things I needed to do that by the time I sat down to try and write a post, the words wouldn't come. So apologies that there was no blog post on Monday, but things should be back to normal as of next week!

Today I just wanted to have a chat and talk about what's been going on recently. I said in my last post that I'm currently on my summer break between my second and third year of university and it is absolutely flying by. I found out my grade for my second year a couple weeks back and I'm so over the moon, but instead of feeling like I can relax for the summer I now just feel incredibly nervous and stressed for third year where it matters the most that I keep up that level of work. Even though I hate worrying because I know it does no one any favours, I can't help but start feeling overwhelmed about my upcoming workload. I'll find out my timetable for third year next month and then maybe I'll be able to get more of a grip on things and finally relax!

One thing that has been annoying me quite a bit recently is that I seem to be in a creative slump. It's like there are so many things going on in my brain that it's just turned to mush and all of my ideas get clouded up and I can't focus. I've also been feeling myself pull away from social media quite a bit recently. I feel like I consume so much of other peoples lives, and even though a lot of the time it does leave me feeling inspired, it can also leave me feeling drained and annoyed that I'm wasting time watching others instead of working on my own things. I want to talk about my thoughts towards social media in a more structured post soon so I'll save my ramblings for that, but I'm currently in the mindset of leaving my phone on silent and limiting my scrolling time and I'm loving it. Maybe my brain will start to un-fog and my creative juices will start flowing again.
The next few weeks are slowly filling up with more days out with friends or evenings visiting family, and I've also been working on a new project that I'm excited to sink my teeth into, so July is already looking quite busy. I know full well that these next few months are going to fly by just like June did and before I know it my next life update post will be saying how I'm back at uni and questioning where the summer went so I'm trying to make the most!

What have you been up to recently?
