Mid-Year Goals

Even though we’re already over a month past the half way point of this year, I’ve seen quite a lot of these posts floating around the blogosphere and I thought I would do one of my own! I love having goals and things to achieve written down in a physical list as it really motivates me to get my butt in gear and tick them off.
Whilst my 7 Things I Want To Do In 2017 post was more of a general post about things I wanted to improve on or start doing throughout the year, this is more specific things that I want to make sure I’ve done before the year is up!

BUY AT LEAST ONE NEW ITEM OF CLOTHING A MONTH… I am a terrible shopper. Whenever I talk to my friends about this, they always seem shocked at how easy I find it to not buy things, because truthfully I just forget. I do not like shopping at all (unless it’s book shopping) and I’m more of a get in get what I need and get out kind of girl, so when it comes to clothes I pretty much wear the same items I’ve owned for years. Seriously, years. I don’t think I’m ever going to fall in love with clothes shopping, but I want to force myself to make more of an effort. I always feel better about myself when I’m wearing something that’s new and fresh and looks good and I want this more often! I’m tired of feeling like a frumpy mess in clothes that are over-loved so I’m forcing myself to purchase at least one new piece a month!

GO ON A STAYCATION… I would loooove a city break this year and right now I have my eyes set on Edinburgh. I spoke to my friend about it the other day and we’re hoping to organise something for around christmas time and it’s making me so excited! I really want to start exploring Britain a bit more so hopefully this’ll be something I do before the new year!

LEARN A SONG ALL THE WAY THROUGH ON PIANO… Something I plan on talking a bit more about on this blog is music. It’s right up there with reading/writing as one of my biggest passions in life and recently my dad gave me a snazzy new keyboard. I had one when I was younger but this one is much bigger with a better sound and I’m SO excited. Even though I have a guitar and I do love it, I’ve always felt like I gravitate towards piano more so I’m really looking forward to learning some songs!

GET SOME ART HUNG ON MY BEDROOM WALLS… I completely redecorated my room around a year ago and I still haven’t hung anything on the walls. There’s a huge empty space above my bed that is just screaming to be filled and I recently bought some artwork off my friend (post coming on that soon) that is itching to be hung up so I need to get my butt in gear and get that done!

GO ON AN AUTUMN WALK WITH MY MUM… I am so ready for autumn. Summer is not for me and I’m so ready for brisk mornings, falling leaves and dark nights and I cannot wait. Something I didn’t do last year which I’m gutted about was go on an autumn walk when all the trees are red and the leaves cover the ground, it’s just so beautiful. My mum is out walking all the time so this year I’m going to pester her to take me on a walk as often as I can!

What are your mid-year goals?

  7. Edinburgh is gorgeous! I went there earlier in the year, and would love to go back! You'll love it. I'm also the same when it comes to clothes shopping.. I rarely find items that I like, or can justify buying!

  9. Great goals! You're so lucky you hate shopping, my mid-year goal should be to refrain buying one new piece of clothing a week! Edinburgh looks so dreamy, I keep looking at it on Pinterest and I'm considering going there for new year!! Hopefully we both get there at the end of this year :) x

  10. I love that you find clothes shopping hard but book shopping easy! I'm not too bad with clothes shopping, but shopping for books comes so much easier to me! Though I already have a backlog of books I want to read, I can't help myself sometimes!!
