A Few Things I Want To Do In 2018

Even though we're already over three weeks into the new year, I feel like I can't start a new year of blog posts without writing a post about some of the things I would like to achieve in 2018. I've written a much longer and in-depth list for myself, but I thought today I would choose my most important goals for this year to share with you guys today!

GRADUATE UNIVERSITY WITH A FIRST... This is definitely the biggest and most important thing I want to do this year. I still can’t quite believe that I’ve only got just a few short months left in university before it’s all over! I’m trying my best not to think about it and just enjoy each day that I’m there because I can guarantee I’m going to blink and it’ll be over. As you can probably tell by my lack of blog posts, I’m currently working my butt off for a high grade, but even if I don’t graduate with the grade that I want, I’m still going to be so proud of the work that I’ve done this year!

GO TO BED EARLIER... My sleeping pattern is currently a complete train wreck. I’m falling asleep around 1am every night and either waking up really late on my days off, or feeling absolutely shattered on the days where I have to be up at 6.30. I’m really putting in the effort to be in bed by 11 every night, even if I’m not falling asleep straight away, so hopefully I can keep it up and my body clock will eventually become that of a normal human beings!

TRAVEL ABROAD... It’s been so long since I travelled anywhere and I am desperate to get me some sun. My friend and I are looking to book lots of short and long trips away over the summer so hopefully there’ll be lots of travelling done this year. Rome and Edinburgh are currently top of my list!

READ 20 BOOKS... My goal last year was to fall in love with reading again and pick up whatever book I wanted, whenever I wanted, and I definitely did that! I read some incredible books last year and thoroughly enjoyed not putting any pressure on myself to read, but this year I want to push myself a bit harder. Even though I read some amazing books, I definitely didn’t make reading enough of a priority in 2017 so this year I want to push myself to dedicate more of my time to it!

BUILD MY CONFIDENCE... I mentioned in my 2017 roundup post that last year was the year of rebuilding for me, and I made such an improvement in so many aspects of my life. Whilst I am so much more confident than I was a year ago, I’m still not quite where I’d like to be. This year I want to focus on building both my physical confidence, by making more of an effort to love my body through exercising/eating as well as I can, and also my mental confidence, by focusing on reading, therapy, meditation etc., so that I can really work on feeling confident with who I am as a person. I’ve spent far too long focusing all of my energy on other people so this year is the year that I focus on myself!

  2. Studies come first, so don't worry about your blogging schedule! It's so important to take the time to study and learn. As you said you'll be really proud of the work you've put in, and also it'll show you that you can do amazing things when you put the effort in :)
    Also you should definitely go to Rome, I can't recommend it enough - although avoid the summer months because it gets packed!
