Back To Blogging

Well this is exciting!
It has been a long old time since I've sat down and poured my thoughts into a blog post. It's been a long time since I've even logged into blogger. The short answer to my absence is pretty straightforward - university. The long answer to my absence is that I guess, I fell out of love with blogging for a while. I chose not to post anything whilst I was focusing on my degree, and after a while of not writing I started to over-analyse everything. I took a long break - six months to be exact - and now I finally feel ready to dive back into this passion of mine.

So! Long time readers might notice the little revamp we've had. I had the same blog layout for three years and whilst I did love it originally, it had felt outgrown and bland for a long time coming. I've kept it a similar style for the blog pages, but we now have a swanky new home page which I absolutely love. I really like that when you initially visit my blog, you see something different than what you see when you read a post, and it feels a lot more organised and just nicer to look at. I've been updating a few old posts so feel free to have a nosey through the archives, and I also had a bit of a revamp with the colour/theme of my blog as well, so I feel a lot more enthusiastic to publish content on here now.
I also updated my profile picture to add to the whole brand new vibe - plus my old one was over a year old so you know, I look different!

In regards to the content I want to publish on this blog, I think I found my writing style back in 2017 when I began to write more personal, chatty style blog posts, and I'd love to continue doing that. Given that the title of this blog is my own name, I'm always going to use this platform to document my life in some way and include things like travel posts, life updates, things I want to achieve etc., and since I've been away for so long I have a lot of posts like this waiting to be published! I'd like to keep the majority of my posts however as more 'personal' posts, similar to ones I've written in the past like Why You Should Take 'Over-Emotional' As A Compliment and Why You Shouldn't Be Scared To Make A 'Fool' Of Yourself. I also want to push myself to write about topics that are slightly more 'taboo', like mental health, relationships, women's health etc.
On the flip side, I still want to use this blog to have fun, so I'll be throwing in some book related content, some music posts, skincare chats, tags, and all things 'lifestyle'-esque! My aim is to upload on my old schedule of every Monday evening, but I'm going to try my best to throw in an extra post on a Friday as well!

tl;dr my aim for this blog is to have fun writing about all the things that interest me, whilst creating a space where the people who read it can feel uplifted, motivated, and leave with a smile on their face! I'm incredibly thankful for anyone who reads my blog, and if you're still here after my ridiculously long hiatus then thank you thank you thank you. I honestly appreciate you so much and I sincerely hope you enjoy what's to come!
